"Good Governance, Media and

Political Communication"

CALL FOR PAPERS

Governance has grown to be a key concern in relation to communication, whether directed at domestic or overseas audiences and whether addressing foreign policy, developmental or security issues.

All over the world governments seek to construct national and global images through news management, political marketing, public relations, public diplomacy and national branding. What are the forces that are making governments recognize the importance of favorable public opinion? How can we understand  this expanding interest in image from different media and communication studies perspectives? The first sub-theme of the workshop will address public diplomacy and related areas.

 The second sub theme will addresses media and social programs, whether in terms of family planning, heath-care, personal and social security, education, intercultural competence or environment.
